Theatre Access course for Company Representatives

This Theatre Access course is designed to prepare all medical representatives for visiting and working within the operating theatre environment.

The aim of the theatre access course is to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills required for them to perform their work role without compromising on patient care or safety.
The Theatre Access course has had accredition by the Association for Perioperative Practice and was the first one in England to receive this endorsement.
Program:
The Theatre Access course is divided into theoretical and practical sessions, held in classroom and theatre settings. It is delivered by expert educationalists and senior operating department practitioners and Scrub Nurses. The theory sessions include operating theatre etiquette, who’s who, Principles of asepsis and operating theatre layout. The practical sessions include a tour of operating theatres, wearing operating theatre attire, social hand-washing, checking and opening sterile equipment, creating and maintaining a sterile field, and surgical scrub and gowning up (Where required).
Assessment:
To achieve this award all candidates need to pass the multiple choice question paper taken at the end of the theatre access course.

 Theatre Access Course prices are based on a minimum of 6-12 candidates at £345.00 per candidate.
